An exhibit of Lee's works will be on display at the Gallery Nov. 20-Dec. 8. The Gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is no admission fee to the exhibition or the lectures.
Lee's first lecture is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday in the Art Building I Lecture Hall, 20th St. and Sam Houston Ave. Her second lecture is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Recital Hall, 17th St. and Ave. J.
While she is on campus, Lee will be interviewed by Cable Channel 7. The interview will be shown Nov. 27-30 at 12:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Lee's visit and exhibition are presented by the College of Arts & Sciences.
Susan Ferre will conduct the university symphonic chorus and orchestra, featuring members of the Texas Baroque Ensemble. Soloists include Dani Gathright, Wayne Barrett, Barbara Corbin, and Ben King.
The concert is funded in part by a grant from the Huntsville Arts Commission and the Texas Commission on the Arts. Admission is free.
Dr. Hollis Lowery-Moore, an associate professor and assistant dean in the College of Education and Applied Science, was scheduled to be a panelist in a presentation entitled "Books to Encourage Middle School Reading."
Lesesne was also scheduled to present a workshop on multi-media mentoring of middle school students and a workshop on the best new books for young adult readers. She will also serve as representative for the Texas Council of Teachers of English affiliate of which she is president-elect.
The National Council of Teachers of English is a professional organization made up of more than 100,000 teachers and supervisors of English at all levels of education.
