Spectators are welcome for the competition. There is no admission charge. Under the competition format, the Huntsville team will compete at 9:50 and 11:50 a.m. in room 308. Afternoon matches will be based on the results of the morning round. The final match is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
Teams indicating they plan to compete include Klein Forest, Strake Jesuit, Mayde Creek, Klein Oak, Awty International, Incarnate Word Academy, James E. Taylor, New Caney, Stratford, Spring Woods, Second Baptist, Bellaire and Nederland.
Also, Dulles, Clear Brook, Westfield, Cypress Creek, Westbury, Spring, Klein, Clear Lake, Jesse Jones, Alvin, Lamar, Brazoswood, and Langham Creek.
Also, Tomball, Jersey Village, Memorial, Kirbyville, Stafford, Allen Academy, Santa Fe, Brazosport, Galena Park, Mt. Carmel, Northland Christian, Duchesne Academy and Cypress Falls.
Dr. Frank Fair, who is the competition director, said that this year's field is 17 schools larger than last year's. Fair said that 30 SHSU faculty members and 30 Honors Program students have volunteered to stage the competition.
