TEE UP! The SHSU Alumni Fall Classic Golf Tournament is set for the Texas National golf course in Willis. Funds raised by the tournament will support the scholarships administered by the SHSU Office of Alumni Relations. For additional information call the alumni office at 1-800-283-7478.

OCTOBER 16

PARADE & BONFIRE (8 p.m. to midnight) The 1997 Homecoming Parade, "Sam Jam" Bonfire & Pep Rally kicks off festivities at the Intramural Field near Bowers Stadium. For more information contact the SHSU Student Activities Office at (409) 294-3861.

OCTOBER 17

GOLDEN CIRCLE REUNION (11 a.m.) Members of SHSU's Golden Circle Club gather for lunch at the Low-man Student Center Ballroom. This year, SHSU's Class of 1947 will be honored guests. The luncheon is open to all alumni in the Class of 1947, their friends, family and members of previous classes who have already been inducted or are eligible to be inducted into the club.

RADIO-TV GOLF TOURNEY (3 p.m.) The Fall Radio-Television Golf Tournament gets under way at the Country Campus Golf Course. For more information contact Dr. Maryjo Adams Cochran at (409) 294-1340.

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD RECEPTION (6:30 p.m.) Silent Auction and Dinner (7:30 p.m.) will be held in the Lowman Student Center Ballroom. This year's honorees are: Dr. James E. Gilmore ('49), Dr. Frank P. Leathers ('49), Mr. Ronald P. Mafrige ('60), Judge John C. Martin ('68), and Mr. Gary L. Whitlock ('72).

ALUMNI COFFEE & HOMECOMING SIGN-UP (8-9:30 a.m.) Held at the Old Main Site (in Austin Hall if raining). Start the day with a continental breakfast and visit with SHSU administrators, faculty, and alumni.

COAS DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI BRUNCH (8:30 p.m.) The College of Arts & Sciences honors alumni.
