EVENTS ANNOUNCED FOR PARENTS' WEEKEND
Parents' Weekend, which has rivaled homecoming in recent years for campus activities and football game attendance, is set for Saturday, Sept. 20.
Some of the scheduled activities include:
- Registration, Lowman Student Center Lobby, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.;
- Sam Houston Memorial Museum demonstrations, Museum grounds, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., homemade dessert at the Woodland Home kitchen, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.;
- Kiddy Land/Carnival/Games, Intramural Fields, 10 a.m. - noon;
- Sorority Presentations, Sorority Houses, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.;
- Caricatures, Paw Print in Lowman Student Center, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.;
- Parents' Association Meeting, LSC Theatre, 11 a.m. - noon;
- Peabody Library tours, 1- 4 p.m.;
- Computer-created art show, Geeslin Gallery, 1-4 p.m.;
- Chorale and Concert Choir, Beto Criminal Justice Center auditorium, 1:30-2:15 p.m.;
- Kiddy Movies/Playtime, Baptist Student Union, 1:30-4 p.m.;
- Casino Games, LSC Ballroom, 2-4:30 p.m.;
- Fashion Show, 2:45-3:15 p.m., CJ auditorium;
- Pledge Presentations, 3:30-4:30 p.m., CJ auditorium.
Parents and their students will gather at a barbecue at Johnson Coliseum from 4:45-6:15 p.m. and the alumni office will sponsor its third pre-game picnic in the Bowers Stadium parking lot from 5-7 p.m.
The Bearkat football team will play Arkansas-Monticello at Bowers Stadium at 7 p.m.
Events continue Sunday with breakfast in the Belvin Hall cafeteria, from 8-10 a.m., and an interdenominational worship at the Recital Hall from 10:30-11:45 a.m.
