Exhibit features views of Italy

The exhibit coincides with the graduation of the artist/photographer, Mary Lynch, a mother of five and grandmother of eight, who will receive the bachelor of fine arts degree from Sam Houston State University during commencement ceremonies on Aug. 14.

Lynch studied this summer in Italy and last summer in Puebla, Mexico. Sam Houston State University international scholarships provided her and other university students the opportunity to study abroad.

In addition to the photographs taken in Italy, the exhibit features Lynch's oils, pastels, and printmaking. Completing the exhibit is a wooden altar that expresses her beliefs and feelings of it being connected to all that is.

"No matter what the age, one can grow and give," she says.

Frameworks Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Sunday. The opening reception for the exhibit will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13.
