Bearkat Fever To Spread At Friday Night Pep Rally

Sam Houston State football fans heading to Frisco early for the NCAA Division I Championship game against North Dakota State on Saturday can get in the Bearkat spirit with other alumni and friends Friday (Jan. 6) evening when the SHSU Alumni Association hosts a pep rally in Plano.

The Bearkat Marching Band and the SHSU Cheerleaders on Friday will join the crowd at the NYLO Hotel, at 8201 Preston Road, at the cross road of Headquarters Drive and Preston Road.

The event will begin at 7 p.m., with appearances by the band and cheerleaders at around 7:30 p.m., according to director for Alumni Relations Charlie Vienne.

A DJ will play music for the duration of the event and a cash bar will be available, as Bearkat football fans mingle and get ready for Saturday’s game. Food can be ordered from the NYLO Hotel.

“I want to thank the NYLO Hotel and its staff for their support and assistance in hosting this great event for Bearkat alumni and fans. This is no small endeavor, and with hundreds of loyal bearkats planning to attend, it will be the place to be in the Dallas area on Friday night,” Vienne said.
