SHSU celebrated this year's homecoming Bearkat Dynasty-style, drawing on the popular TV show Duck Dynasty and SHSU's lineage of amazing students, educators and history. Activities (including the kick-off rally, SamJam Carnival, the parade, decorating contest and game-day festivities) followed the "Bearkat Dynasty" theme, and everyone was "Happy, Happy, Happy," despite an approximate two-hour rain delay during Saturday's game, after which SHSU would go on to win 14-3.

Homecoming Game |
Rainy weather delayed the football game in the fourth quarter, but attitudes were sunny for football fans as they watched SHSU defeat Lamar 14-3 Saturday (Oct. 12) afternoon. During halftime (before the rain), senior psychology major Elizabeth Opara and junior mass comm major Keenan Jones were crowned this year's Homecoming Queen and King (below).
