Sam Houston State University will bring together a group of renowned experts on a variety of subjects to speak with guests in a conversational setting during the sixth annual “LET’S TALK!” on March 21.

The event, which benefits the Elliott T. Bowers Honor College, features personal visits with the experts, who lead a table of 10 over dinner. The evening will begin with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and conversation in the Lowman Student Center Ballroom.

Topics range from the arts and literature, public policy and government affairs, history, sports, forensic science, business and the economy, just to name a few. All guests are encouraged to pre-select their topics through early reservations and receive consideration for their first, second, or third choice.

Among the 24 discussion leaders are: Houston trial lawyer Chris Tritico, who represented Timothy McVeigh in the Oklahoma City Bombing Case; Lisa Bedford, doomsday preparer and author of “Survival Mom;” Dave Fougeron, president of Southern Star Brewing Company in Conroe; Ron Hickman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4, who will discuss human trafficking in Houston; Fred Campos, president of Fun City Social Media; and a number of other discussion leaders including SHSU professors, alumni and non-university affiliated leaders.

Since the event was first held in 2008, more than $250,000 in total funds have been generated for scholarships and Honors College programs.

Tickets for the evening are $125, a portion of which is tax deductible. Reservations can be made online at shsu.edu/~honors/letstalk/reservations or by calling 936.294.4061. Sponsorships are also available.
