History Department Commemorates March On Washington

SHSU students, faculty and staff gathered Wednesday morning to pay tribute to the March on Washington, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last week, on the first day of class. Highlights from the celebration included readings from speeches given by civil rights activists, both during and leading up to the march, and Dallas-based painter Ronald Oliver creating a work of art during the event (visible in the far right corner). —Photo by Brian Blalock
