Ground Broken for LEMIT Building

Ground was broken June 10 for a new $5.6 million home for the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas at Sam Houston State University. Signaling the official start of construction, which is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2000, were, from left, Robert Becktell, president of Beck-Ford Construction, Inc.; Louis Carballo, partner in Molina Walker Architects, Inc.; Bobby K. Marks, SHSU president; Randall Garner, executive director of the institute; and Lamar Urbanovsky, chancellor of The Texas State University System.
