Leathers Family Has
Strong SHSU Ties

The Leathers family has strong ties with Sam Houston State University. Frank Leathers, left, earned two degrees, is a retired vice president, and received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1997. Andy and Carrie Leathers of Centerville earned degrees at Sam, and now four of their daughters are following in their footsteps. They are, from left, Sheila Leathers Ryder, Tara Leathers, Allison Leathers, and Rachel Leathers Johnson. All are kinesiology majors. They met recently at the Levi Leathers Career Resource Library in the SHSU Career Services Center. The library honors Frank's brother, Levi Leathers, a former vice president with Dow Chemical, who received SHSU's Distinguished Alumni Award in 1977.
