Bearkats are gearing up for the Nov. 10 football game against Jacksonville State with a week full of activitites. All are invited to take a trip down

5 Homecoming Elections: 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Students can vote for homecoming king and queen candidates through the SHSU Homepage. Winners will be announced during halftime at Saturday's game.
Homecoming Kick-off Rally: 11:50 a.m. at LDB mall area. The cheerleaders and Orange Pride will present spirit activities. Don't miss the introduction of the homecoming king/queen candidates! Call 936.294.FUN1 for more info.
Sam Street Party: 7 p.m. at the Post Office parking lot. This new event features karaoke, carnival-style organizational activity booths, and concessions. Call 936.294.FUN1 for more info.

Laugh Out Loud Comedy Show: 7 p.m. at Smith-Hutson Auditorium, featuring comedians Nikki Carr and Ronnie Long. Free admission for students, faculty, and staff. Call 936.294.FUN1 for more info.
7 2001 Homecoming Parade: 7 p.m. This is a true SHSU tradition! The parade will travel along Sam Houston Avenue, with floats by different organizations. Call 936.294.FUN1 for more info.
Sam Jam: 8 p.m. at Johnson Coliseum parking lot. The biggest event of homecoming week! Activities include inflatable games, carnival booths, and free pizza. The cheerleaders and Orange Pride will be on hand for a Kat Kall, and the final candidates for homecoming king and queen will be announced. Call 936.294.FUN1 for more info.
8 Drive-in Movie: 7 p.m. at Colony Park behind Colony Apartments. Along Came a Spider with Morgan Freeman will be featured on a huge outdoor screen. Call 936.294.FUN1 for more info.
9 Journalism Alumni Reception: 5-7 p.m. at the Dan Rather Communication Building, 2nd Floor. Call 936.294.1516 for more info.
Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner: 7:30 p.m. at the White Hall banquet room. Call 936.294.1841 for tickets.
10 Alumni Coffee: 8-10 a.m. at Austin Hall, hosted by SHSU Alumni Association.
5K Raven Run: 9 a.m. at HKC. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Contact Amy Swingle at 936.294.1985 for more info.
Agricultural Sciences Alumni Reception: 10 a.m. at Thomason Building, Room 325. Call 936.294.1215 for more info.
Family and Consumer Sciences Alumni Reception: 10-11 a.m. in the Mattie B. Medford Living Center of AB2, 2nd floor. Call 936.294.1242 for more info.
Lettermen Hall of Honor Luncheon: 11:30 a.m. at White Hall banquet room. 5 former athletes will be honored. Tickets must be purchased by Nov. 6 from Jack Kyle at 936.295.5953.
Pre-Game Tailgate Party: Noon at Bowers Stadium parking lot. Dept. of Student Activities, Alumni Association, and College of Business Administration will have music, food, and fun for students and alumni in preparation for the 2 p.m. game. Go Bearkats!
