Sims and Sosa Receive Scholarships

Shannon Sosa, left, and Brooke Sims have been awarded scholarships by the SHSU Parents' Association.

Brooke is a senior Public Relations major from Huntsville and is the daughter of Jim and Mary Ellen Sims. She is treasurer of Zeta Tau Alpha, a member of Rho Lambda Honor Society and an orientation leader. After graduation in August 2003, she plans to pursue a public relations career in the entertainment or leisure industries.

Shannon is a Human Resource Management major from Houston. She is the daughter of Ramon and Helen Sosa and currently serves as vice president of membership for Phi Chi Theta, is a resident advisor and orientation team leader. Shannon will graduate in May 2003 and plans to attend graduate school.

SHSUPA President Kelly Clements of Tyler announced that two additional scholarships will be awarded in Spring 2003. Eligibility for these scholarships include that the student's parent/guardian be a current member of the Parents' Association, have at least 12 hours at SHSU, have a 3.0 grade point average and not have received a scholarship from SHSUPA previously.
