Polish Police Visit LEMIT

LEMIT recently welcomed members of the Polish National Police.

The visitors included: Wladyslaw Padlo, first deputy commander-in-chief, general headquarters of police, Warsaw (leader of the group); Stanislaw Bukowski, regional commander-in-chief, city: Gorzow Wielkopolski; Henryk Tusinski, regional commander-in-chief, city: Poznan; Jozef Jedynak, regional commander-in-chief, city: Rzeszow; Henryk Tokarki, regional commander-in-chief, city: Bydgoszcz; Jacek Staniecki, regional commander-in-chief, city: Lodz.

Their schedule included time-sharing experiences with participants from the LEMIT Leadership and Command College including innovative programs in community policing; situational leadership; highly effective leaders and strategic management, as well as bespoke training on the use of competency frameworks.

The representatives of the Polish National Police also had the opportunity to visit local police departments in Texas including the Houston Police Department and the FBI Field Office at Houston.

The commanders traveled to the Texas capitol where they were welcomed at the Austin Police Department. Their visit to Austin included a meeting with multi agency policing teams at the Office of the Governor, a highlight of their stay in Texas.

Lt. Rafal Wasiak, of the Polish National Police, is also a graduate student with Sam Houston State University Criminal Justice Department, and assisted with the coordination of the visit as well as providing translation services.
