SAM Center Preps Students For GRE
Are you ready to take the Graduate Record Exam? The Student Advising and
Mentoring Center will host an eight-day intensive GRE Prep Workshop to teach
strategies and maximize skill-based performances on all three components
of the exam: verbal, math and writing.
The workshop will be held Sept. 22 through Oct. 1, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. nightly
in Academic Building 4 Room 204, and is free for all students.
The review is lead by SAM Center staff Bernice Strauss and Janet Fair, as well
as mathematics lecturer Linda Wright.
“The program covers, time management and scoring as well as English, writing
and math review,” Strauss said.
Participants are required to commit to attending all eight meetings and registration
is limited to 15. There are only a few slots left for the Sept. 22 workshop,
but because of the interest generated, it will be offered again in November,
according to Strauss.
“We offered a program last spring as a pilot and it was very well received,
so we are offering twice each fall and spring,” she said.
To sign-up, or for more information, call the SAM Center at 936.294.4444, or stop
by the center, located in AB4 Room 210.
