ISA To Host Annual 'India Nite' Saturday
The SHSU Indian Students Association will give the campus
a look into the Indian culture and heritage at its fourth
annual “India Nite,” on Saturday (Nov. 15) from
6:30-9 p.m. in the Lowman Student Center Ballroom.
The event is co-sponsored by the Office of Multicultural and
International Student Services.
India Nite has become one of the most anticipated events on
campus and has drawn over 200 guests, including administrators,
faculty, staff and students, in the past, according to ISA
member Gaurav Dalal.
“Every year, the attendees enjoy an evening of authentic
Indian cuisine and presentations of the Indian culture through
dance, music, multimedia and a pageantry of clothing and artwork,”
he said. “The event has received accolades from several
members of the SHSU community and citizens of Huntsville as
well.”
Tickets are available for $15 for the general public, and
children under 12 years do not require a ticket. To purchase
general public tickets, contact: Romita Puri, ISA president,
at 832.606.4161.
Students are asked to bring their IDs with them to the event.
The SHSU Indian Students Association is a cultural student
organization at SHSU. The group supports and advises incoming
and current students from India, as well as educates the SHSU
community on the rich culture and heritage of India.
