Museum Selected as 'Best Attraction'
From Huntsville Item
Reports
Sam Houston State University's Sam Houston
Memorial Museum was honored recently
as the "best attraction" experienced during a six-day, 10-city Texas Travel Counselor
tour of north and southeast Texas.
The Huntsville Convention and Visitors Bureau recently hosted the travel
counselors, who are employees working at the Texas state travel information
centers throughout the state. They also selected Huntsville as the best city
visited.
The counselors also selected Huntsville's adventure guide Robbie George
as the "best step-on tour guide," and The Homestead restaurant as serving
the best dinner of 14 restaurants visited.
The study tour was coordinated locally through Huntsville Convention and
Visitors Bureau director Rhonda Ellisor.
"This is a great honor for our city, being voted as best of by those in
the tourism industry that promote cities throughout the state of Texas to
millions of visitors," Ellisor said. "We know that Huntsville has a lot to
offer, and we enjoy promoting that on a daily basis."
Awards were presented during the Texas Travel Counselors' annual conference
in Waco April 11.
