Congratulations to the Financial Aid Office team of "Royal
Flush" for winning the High Roller Challenge at the Poker
Walk on Oct. 16.
This is the second time the Financial Aid Office has won
the award. Once again, they will have the traveling trophy
for their office.
The Maverick Award winner for the best poker hand was Mandy
Carrell from the Accounting Department.
"We look forward to putting this event on each year
because of to the overwhelming support and participation by
the SHSU community," said Amy Swingle, assistant director
of recreational sports. Over 400 faculty, staff and students
participated in this year's event.
Along with the Recreational Sports Department the Poker Walk
was co-sponsored by Barnes & Noble University Bookstore,
the Dean of Students' Office and Student Government Association,
the Lowman Student Center Program Council, and Golden Key
Honor Society. Departments that are interested in becoming
a co-sponsor for the next Poker Walk should contact Amy Swingle
