You're Invited to Travel With SH
Sam Houston State University is kicking off a new program
- Travel with SH, with special tours designed to offer unique
itineraries filled with exclusive, quality opportunities.
The December 4-7, 2003, Chicago trip is a great example of
the unusual attractions offered by Travel with SH.
Tour Chicago with 20 fellow Sam Houston State University
alumni and friends and stay at the first Hilton hotel, the
Palmer House. This tour was scheduled around the traveling
exhibit, "Manet and the Sea" at the Art Institute.
Next, join Bill Hinchcliff, an architectural historian with
degrees from Yale and Georgetown universities, for two tours.
The first is his "Birth of the Skyscraper" tour.
The second tour features three Frank Lloyd Wright masterpieces.
There are a few seats available for this trip. The application
deadline is October 1, 2003.
Destinations for 2004 include opportunities to cruise the
North Atlantic fall foliage, dive and swim in the Gulf waters,
explore Mexican Indian markets and cathedrals, take an African
safari, ride the Colorado River rapids through the Grand Canyon,
take an art course at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, see
a Broadway show, hike Peruvian Inca trails, stroll through
English country manor gardens, soak in Santa Fe, watch a live
volcano spit fire in Costa Rica, wander through Irish country
castles or Greek temples, and follow Charles Darwin to the
Galapagos Islands.

of the 2004 Travel with SH destinations invites input from
travel enthusiasts and provides information about specific

Grettle Payne, program coordinator, said that Travel with
SH seeks to provide educational tours with special thought
and care for SHSU alumni and friends.
