College of Business Administration Breaks New Ground
Sam Houston State University's College of Business Administration
broke ground Jan. 27 on an $8.3 million expansion of the Smith-Hutson
Business Building. Representatives of the university's board
of regents, the architects and contractors, and university
officials, dug in to officially kick off the project scheduled
for completion in May 2005. Preparing to kick up a little
dirt are, from left, Patrick J. Sullivan, director of planning
and construction for the Texas State University System; Frank
Holmes, SHSU vice president for advancement; Ken Craycraft,
TSUS vice chancellor for academic affairs; James F. Gaertner,
SHSU president; James A. "Jimmy" Hayley, SHSU alum
and board of regents member; R. Dean Lewis, dean of the College
of Business Administration; Lamar Urbanovsky, TSUS chancellor;
Thelma Douglass, SHSU vice president for student services;
and David Payne, SHSU vice president for academic affairs.
