Regents Approve Promotions, Tenure
Sam Houston State University's board of regents Friday approved
promotions for 21 faculty members and tenure for 16, which
included several who received both.
Those promoted and their new rank, effective in fall 2004,
are:
Donald P. Albert, associate professor in geography and geology;
Milo D. Berg, Jr., associate professor in economics and international
business; Mary A. Berry, professor in library science; Edward
F. Blackburne, associate professor in economics and international
business; Ferry B. Butar, associate professor in mathematics
and statistics.
Also, Patricia P. Card, associate professor in music; Joan
Coffey, professor in history; Robert E. Donahoo, professor
in English and foreign languages; Bruce D. Hall, assistant
professor in the Newton Gresham Library; Joseph A. Hardenbrook,
assistant professor in the Newton Gresham Library.
Also, Jaimie L. Hebert, professor in mathematics and statistics;
Joe F. James, professor in general business and finance; William
A. Jasper, associate professor in mathematics and statistics;
Teresa S. Lesesne, professor in library science, William I.
Lutterschmidt, associate professor in biological sciences.
Also, Joe E. Muller, professor in agricultural sciences; Rebecca
A. Robles-Pina, associate professor in educational leadership
and counseling; Glenn M. Sanford, associate professor in psychology
and philosophy; Tony R. Shipp, associate professor in art;
Gary W. Smith, professor in computer science, and Andrew E.
Wilson, associate professor in music.
Those above receiving tenure included Albert, Blackburne,
Butar, Card, Jasper, Lutterschmidt, Robles-Pina, Sanford,
Shipp, Smith and Wilson.
Also receiving tenure were Tony R. DeMars, associate professor
in mass communications; Alice M. Fisher, associate professor
in educational leadership and counseling; S. Helena Halmari,
associate professor in English and foreign languages; W. Matthew
McInturf, associate professor in music; and James D. Ragsdale,
professor in speech communication.
