SHSU Parties 'Vegas Style For Homecoming

SHSU's 2005 "Viva Huntsvegas...Bearkat
Style" Homecoming offered fun and activities for all.
(Above) Senior criminal justice major Christopher Pedison
and junior radio-television major Jenna Zibton were crowned
king and queen during halftime of SHSU's game against
Northwestern State.
(Left) Samantha 'leads' the Bearkat
Marching Band during the tailgating festivities prior
to the football game. Winners of the first tailgate competition
are as follows:
Best Food—Ag Council,
Best Use of Theme—Sigma Chi and
Most SHSU Spirit—Siggraph.
Other Homecoming 2005 winners include—Spirit Competition:
first place, Black Student Alliance;
second place, International Hispanic Association; and
third place, Ag Council.
Parade float winners included Ag Council,
first; Lambda Theta Alpha,
second; and International Hispanic Association,
third.

Among the activities slated
for this year's Homecoming were (above left) the SHSU
versus Northwestern State football game, where the Demons
came out on top 10-6; (above right) a donation by Houston
businessman and alumnus Ron Mafrige was made during halftime
for $250,000, which will make possible the construction
of an new strength and conditioning facility for Bearkat
athletics; and (below) the bell tower was officially
dedicated during a ceremony on Saturday morning. All
