An Event of Note if Graduation is Your Destination
As the anticipated graduation date moves closer, tensions are high and students are moving into panic mode. There are questions about what to do and where to go.
Students can rest easy knowing that all of their questions can be answered with one stop. Destination Graduation is an event that will help answer all of the questions and concerns that a graduate may have. The event will be held in the LSC Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m Nov. 16.
"We just want to offer students a way to find out what is going on so that there are no surprises at the end of graduation," said Maria Busby, assistant registrar.
Students can take advantage of this event and visit with departments from all over campus who are eager to answer any questions they may have. Destination Graduation is open to all December 2005 graduating students in the bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs.
Throughout the event there will be door prizes and games.
"We know that students love free stuff and we encourage all graduating students to stop by and have their questions answered and grab some freebies," said Tiffany West, registrar assistant.
Some of the prizes offered include Wal-Mart gift cards, free pizza from Papa John's Pizza, a game of free golf, and much more.
This will be the third time that Destination Graduation has been offered at Sam Houston State. A big turnout is expected due to the growing number of students that attended in Spring 2005. This semester there are more than 1,000 degree candidates.
Students with questions regarding Destination Graduation should contact the Registrar's Office, the event sponsor, at 294.1040, or visit the Destination Graduation website.
