Sam-Info Line Gets Disconnected
Sam Houston State University Telephone Services has inactivated
the Sam-Info telephone line (936.294.3900) due to its expense
and a drop in usage.
Students could call 936.294.3900 to register and look up grades.
It offered similar services to that now available on the SHSU
Web site.
The service was offered through fall registration, but because
of the lack of use it has been discontinued.
The University of Texas at Austin had services similar to
the Sam-Info line, but they have recently disconnected theirs
as well.
“We disconnected this service because it is too expensive,”
said James Stevens, associate vice president for information
resources. "This service also required too much maintenance
for the small number of students who were using it."
As fall semester comes to an end, registration and grades
can be accessed through SHSU’s Web site, http://www.shsu.edu/,
or for further assistance, call 936.294.1111.
