Service is Thursday for Bob Case

A funeral service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday for Robert
L. (Bob) Case, professor of health and kinesiology, past head
of that department, and former Sam Houston State University athletic
director, who died suddenly at his home Monday night.
The service for Case, 64, will be held at First Baptist Church
in Huntsville under the direction of the Sam Houston Memorial
Funeral Home.
Case was a professor and chair of health and kinesiology from
1983 until 2003 and athletic director as well from 1990-92.
He earned his bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University
in 1963, and his master's and doctorate from the University of
Illinois in 1964 and 1969.
Prior to coming to Sam Houston State he worked as an instructor
and baseball coach at Palm Beach Junior College (1964-64), as
an assistant professor at the University of Illinois (1968-70)
and Wake Forest University (1970-73), as department chair and
athletic director at Georgetown College (1973-75), and as chair
of health, physical education and recreation at Marshall University
(1975-83).
